Today was a much better day as our feet were on the ground the entire day! The issue today is the fact that it is negative humidity!! I didn't even know there was such a thing. They are saying to make sure you stay hydrated. No kidding! Every 10 minutes or so, you feel so dried out from the inside out - kind of like your mouth is sticking together. It is super super dry here, I can't wait to feel the moisture in the Vancouver air. It is the wierdest feeling being congested so that I can't breathe because of my cold, and yet at the same time, my nasal passage is so dried out it hurts. Wierd.
Oh, and then our wake up call this morning didn't call. And neither did the second one I ordered. So we had to hustle to get ready and make it to breakfast before our classes. All in good fun. Traveling always brings adventure and opportunities for stories and scrapbook pages! You gotta look on the positive side :)
Oh and how about our view? Las Vegas has beautiful views of the city from most hotel rooms especially at night with all the lights. Here is ours:
Gotta love it :)
Had some more classes today, some product oriented, some business oriented. We've ordered some of the projects to do classes with you. The rest of the time was spent in the exhibit area looking at and ordering the new releases for next year. The products will be arriving from January until May. I'll post some photos here, but for some reason, the system is taking a long time to download the photos, so I'll do more next week (after the open house this weekend).
Inspirables Life series. Very pretty colours, and some of the stickers and the album are flocked. Also came in a pink and brown series.
Lots of new expoxy Valentine/love stickers. Very cute. This one will be in one of the classes in February.
New Super Hero stickers and the Muppets! (remember watching that on Friday nights and then Donnie and Marie - I know I'm dating myself.)
Very cute predone Mickey and Princess albums. Super fast way to get a Disney album done for you or as a gift for someone.
There were lots of cool new papers. Here are some of them.
One of my favourites - White compostition books in small, medium and even a large 12x12. Watch for classes with these!
Very cool new tool. Called the 123D paper crafting system. This will come with an idea book and DVD showing how easy it is to use. This innovative tool does deckle edges in straight and curved lines, you can score with it, cut with it and make square, round and pillow boxes of all shapes and sizes. Also shows how to make pop up cards, envelopes and other crafts. It is super cool. Here are some projects they did with it... kind of hard to see but trust me, you are going to want this tool. I loved the boxes they made from photos - such a great idea for parties and weddings.
The coolest new tool - The Cutterfly. It is like a "swiss army knife" for scrapbookers. It has 11 tools in one! Spring action scissors, cutting rotary blade, distress tool, paper piercer, spring action needle nose pliers, retracting 13" ruler, tweezers, embossing stylus, keychain, rubon tool, and screwdriver!
And it is so small - easy to take with you anywhere.
A must have tool. Should be arriving towards the end of February.
Michele and Nicole with a fake pirate (the event had a pirate theme)
and the real thing (There was a collective gasp from 1/2 of the ladies at dinner when this pirate walked out.)
Off to pack up our bags as we have a 7am meeting. Hopefully when we arrive home tomorrow night, we will only have great flight stories to tell you. I know I will be saying lots of prayers and if you are the praying kind, please pray for us tomorrow as we are both a little nervous to step back on a plane. But we want to get home to our families so in the air we go.
Nicole and Michele from Vegas.
