Just wanted to share this Christmas Card with you. Sensai Ron (the girls Karate teacher) came into the store before Christmas wanting to make a card for his wife. He had been intrigued by all the scrapbooking supplies in the store, but had never ventured into that area except to look. He asked for help to make a card, as to Tash, the card is just as important if not more than the present. We talked a bit about the look he wanted and colours he would use. He wanted something elegant and liked the idea of nontraditional colours. I showed him the Bazzill Bling and he loved it. I showed him how to use the cutterpede and cut a sheet of 8.5x11 cardstock in half to use as the card base (and the scoring blade to get a nice fold) Then showed him the die cut machine and he decided to layer snowflakes. I hadn't tried that with those snowflakes and thought it looked great. Of course I had to show him how to put glitter on a snowflake too and the magic of gluedots! He picked a matching ribbon and then wanted to put words on the card so I showed him the new Making Memories glitter rubons. At this point I had to pick up the girls at school, so he said he would take the rubons home. Not only did he put rubons on, but he used the words on it and altered them a bit, to spell his wife's name on the envelope. Brilliant! He loved the card so much, he brought in his son a few days later to make a card for his mom.
I wish more guys would take the plunge into cardmaking and scrapbooking. They are very artistic and creative and have great ideas and a different perspective. Encourage the males in your life to give it a try. Help them make a card as that is an easy project to start with.
