Ideas with the new QuicKutz Gift Sets

Here are some cute ideas from the QuicKutz  website using the new Limited Edition Gift Sets

And a Great Tip for Getting the little black "charcoal" pieces on the snowman for the eyes and mouth:

• Die Cut The snowman's head twice - in white and black paper
• Poke out the holes from the white snowman head only, then glue it on your project
• Place a thin layer of glue on the back of the black snowman head (make sure eyes and mouth still in)
• Lay the black snowman head, adhesive side down, over the white snowman head.
• Use the QuickStik to gently poke the black dots into the holes of the white snowman head.
• Remove the top lack die cut leaving only the "charcoal" bits behind.

Importance of photos

Once again, I am reminded of the importance of our photos.  I just received an email update from a Business associate in Southern California.  The fires are bad and huge and mother nature is in full force. There are over 13 major fires and a fire wall 250 miles long!  Over 1/2 million people have had to be moved (and he joked that most of them are at his place which is about 8 miles from the fires).  And then he commented on what people are bringing

  In all this one picture is clear, people run out of their homes with their kids, pets, pictures, albums and scrapbooks. They are willing to lose everything but those things that are living and those things that were part of their living past.

This is so true and shows us again the importance of preserving our memories in scrapbooks, photo albums, photo books, DVD's...whatever method you use.  These are things that can't be replaced.  Take some time today and work on this.

And say a prayer for all those in Southern California.

Thanks to my Staff

I would like to take a quick minute to thank my wonderful staff.  I always feel funny calling them that as I consider them all my friends. Two Friday nights ago they "kidnapped me" and along with my family, they had a surprise PJ Birthday party for me at Kate's.  Everything was pink, they pampered me with a facial, pedicure and manicure, we laughed and laughed till our sides hurt and they all gave me incredibly thoughtful gifts.  Of course I cried lots (happy happy tears!) and it was a wonderful evening.  Thanks to all of you and I love you all!!

Thank You Doreen!

A huge Thanks goes out to Doreen for organizing her Scrap Cancer Crop.  I had a great time (even though my husband was mortified I went in my Pj's and slippers - hey I was going to be comfortable!) and it was great fun to be on the other end of a crop. I got 8 pages done and a mini book so I was very pleased.
And the best part is, the crop raised over $8,000 towards Cancer research.  Scrappers Rock!!
Here is a photo of the walkers signed up to walk on Doreen's Miracle Team; Tam, myself and Renee being goofy (now there's a shock! lol), Doreen thanking everyone, and some of the happy croppers.  Can't wait for next year!
