What a fabulous new publication! We were delighted at PE to see an idea book that allows you to celebrate your faith!

Scrapbooking Your Faith will help readers to express their own faith in a personal and modern way through their art. Author Courtney Walsh, an accomplished scrapbooker and writer in addition to being a pastor's wife, works with eight other scrapbook artists to create a well-rounded, accessible approach to this subject. A Day in the LIfe of a Messy Eater

We have a custom at Photo Express, one that is thoroughly enjoyed and greatly anticipated by all that work here: we celebrate you on your birthday by splurging for a round of cupcakes for all staff members! Well, it just happened to be Karen's birthday on this past Wednesday (happy birthday Karen!), so we surprised her at the front counter with a box of cupcakes and (rather awful) round of  "Happy Birthday" :-)

For whatever reason, Tanya was having an 'off' day, and missed her mouth when she went to consume her yummy cupcake. It must also be mentioned that there are some rather interesting rumors that Renée's hand mysteriously appeared nearby and 'randomly' bumped Tanya's hand as her cupcake approached her mouth....not to lay blame or make any erroneous accusations, of course.  :-)

But, being the loyal friend that she is, Renée was quick to step up to the plate and offer to help Tanya clean up the mess....

 

Ah yes....good and loyal friends are hard to come by. And when they do, one must hold on to them tightly...and catch it all on camera! LOL :-)

PE's Paper Rally (aka PEP Rally)

Join us for the opening kickoff of PE's Hottest new program - PE's Paper Rally -"Pep Rally" for short.  This program will be replacing the QuicKutz Crew program and will follow a similar concept, only better!  Each month will feature a different company, product or technique. You'll learn something new, make a great project and have fun socializing with your fellow "PEP"ers. (A PE  Paper Rally follower). (And you know that "PEP"ers will be getting special treats!)

The Pep Rally will follow the same format as the monthly Crew Get Togethers and the intial kickoff will be Friday June 4th. The Rally will be the first Friday of every month so it is easy to save some time in your calendar each month . There will be 4 time slots during the day (2:00, 3:00, 6:30 and 7:30) so you can pick the one that is most convenient for your schedule.  It is a drop in format anytime during the time slots, but you must be registered to attend (so we can have a kit made up for you.) All supplies will be included for the great project you will make, you just need to bring your adhesives. Class discount will apply after you've attended the rally, so shopping will be fun too! .

To add in even more fun, there will be extra incentives and fun for the different degrees of "PEP"ers. Everyone attending the kickoff rally will receive a little treat announcing the fact that you are now a "Sweet Bell "PEP"er". As you attend Pep Rally's, you will move up the "hotness" scale of "PEP"ers until you become the Super Hot Habanero "PEP"er. Along this "growth" journey, you will receive little treats and incentives to reward your learning and growing. Plus it is just plain fun! Join us Friday June 4th!

Don't worry if you are out of town or can't attend one of the Rally's, you can order the kit to pick up in store or to be shipped to you. (Kits will be held for a max. of 3 months.) Your kit will come with simple instructions and an additional supply list needed for any items that are used in the store at the Rally.  There will be an option to purchase those items (tools, stamps, glitter, die cut...etc etc depending on what is used that month) or you can substitute items you already own.

Registration is just $5, and  cutoff for the June 4th Rally will be Fri May 28th, 9pm. This applies if you want a kit or want to attend.  All signups become nonrefundable after this date as kit preparation will have started.

FAQ:

Is there a membership fee to be able to attend the PEP Rally's and become a super hot Habenero Pepper?  No, this program will have no membership fee like the QuicKutz Crew program did.  It is open to everyone.

Why is there a $5 charge for the PEP Rally? The Pep Rally's are more of a "pay as you go" type event.  There is no membership fee, and the $5 is a minimal charge for the great projects you will be making.  The value will always be at least $10 or more.  PLUS you will receive your class discount when attending a PEP Rally!

Can I get kits if I live out of town? Yes, we didn't want to exclude anyone who wasn't able to get into the store, so you can choose to purchase the kit and have them mailed to you. Kits will be held for a maximum of 3 months at the store. There will be a list of products that are used in the store at the Rally that you will need to either purchase or use similar items from your own supplies.

Do I have to attend every month? Of course not, but you will miss out if you don't!

What are the different levels of Peppers and what happens when I become a different level? There are 12 levels of "PEP"rs that you move through each time you attend a PEP Rally. You start out as a sweet bell "PEP"r, and move your way up to the Super Hot Habenro "PEP"r once you have attended 12 PEP Rally's.  There will be bonuses along the way and of course lots of fun. The "PEP"r levels will be revealed at the Kickoff PEP Rally!

What will we be doing at the PEP Rally? It is a surprise each time.  With the new format, we are free to use any company, product, or technique that we want giving us lots and lots of options to surprise you. It will be fun, you will learn great stuff, and it is great to have a regular day/night out with your fellow "PEP"rs.

Do I need to bring anything? We will supply all the products (and often extras to take home). All you need to bring are your adhesives. If you are taking the kit format, there will be a list of the additional products you will need (that were used in the class) with the option to purchase them, or substitute with similar products that you probably own.

We R has just written a new chapter on book binding. Fresh for 2010, The Cinch is sure to become the hit of the year. This easy to use tool binds books with the press of the handle. Perfect for home, office or school. Easy enough for the beginner, professional enough for the expert.

Worry free binding - NO measuring needed! We R did all of the math for you. You simply refer to the handy guide on the base to see which pegs to pull for perfectly centered pages every time.

For example; if you are punching a 4 inch page, pull out peg #8.

Place your pages up under the punches and align left against the guide. (Make sure the guide is pushed in all the way to the right for punching a 6 inch page or less.) Then simply pull down the handle to punch.

Try pulling out every other peg and binding with metal rings. Or try different configurations of holes for other great results.

Also, try setting We R’s eyelets in the punched holes (like the mini book above), then threading with plastic coil binding or closing your book with metal rings.
