Here is a cute idea from Fiskars. The colours are so fun. You can use any paper lines (you probably have lots at home!) and you can use various punch or die cut designs that you have.

Designer: Patti Milazzo
Encourage your kids to read more this summer with these fun bookmarks created with Fiskars Squeeze Punches and Shape Templates. These are simple enough as a craft for them or you can put them together and slip them into their latest favorite books.
Instructions:
Bookmark base –
1. Cut a 2.5 inch by 7.5 inch patterned paper or cardstock as the bookmark base.
2. Cut 2.5 inch square from patterned paper and adhere to bottom of book mark.
3. Cut small strip to adhere above square.
Watermelon –
1. Cut 3 inch and 2.5 inch circles from green and red paper using the Circle Shape Template and Ultra ShapeXpress Tool. Also cut out a 2.5 inch circle from black cardstock.
2. Cut the circles in half or quarters and use the 1/8 inch hole punch on the red semi-circles.
3. Layer the pieces together with the black behind the red to imitate watermelon seeds.
4. Use the Large Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch to cut out small scalloped sections imitating bite marks.
5. Adhere watermelon sections to the bookmark.
6. Print sentiment on white cardstock and adhere to open space on bookmark.
Ice Cream Cone –
1. Cut triangle shape from Diamond Shape Template.
2. Cut 2.5 inch circle from patterned paper; adhere behind cone to look like an ice cream cone and adhere near top of the bookmark.
3. Squeeze Punch drop shapes and adhere near side of bookmark. Use foam adhesive to “pop up” the shape.
4. Print sentiment on white cardstock and adhere to open space on bookmark.
Daisy –
1. Cut 2.5 inch circle from paper using the Circle Template and adhere it to the top of the bookmark.
2. Squeeze Punch Seal of Approval scalloped circles – 1 of each size from white cardstock.
3. Using scissors cut between scallop shapes to separate petals and layer shapes on blue circle.
4. Squeeze Punch 2 Medium Circles from yellow paper and adhere one to the center of the flower and use a piece of foam adhesive to adhere the other circle on top of it.
5. Squeeze Punch Mint Condition leaves and adhere near daisy. I had a green line on my paper that I used as a stem.
6. Print sentiment on white cardstock and adhere to open space on bookmark.
