Dragon's Den September 28th - Watch it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So super exciting.  Ron's wife (and my sister in law) Elaine and her family are going to be on Dragon's Den on September 28th. They are first up.  Make sure to watch as they make their plea to the Dragons for help with her company Easy Daysies. So very cool! Go Elaine Go!

Preorder Silhouette Cameo in Canada

Many of you have been asking if we will be carrying the Silhouette Cameo.  We have looked into it and will preorder the machines for those of you who want one. We have looked into the costs associated with getting the machines here (shipping and brokerage) before pricing it. The preorder price will be $349.95 with a max club member discount of $20 making it $329.95. No other coupons or discounts apply except if you have a birthday card gift certificate. Chalking your Hair

Chalking is another new trend:

 Chalking is done with regular art chalks.  The advantage of using chalk is that it washes right out.  If you are going out for an evening you can choose any color of chalk to tip the ends of your hair, apply long streaks, or color your bangs.  Just let your imagination be your guide. Of course, you don't want to get caught in the rain!

 The procedure for using chalk on your hair is:

 Fill a bowl with 1 1/4 full of warm water.  Place you color choices of chalk into the bowl making sure they are covered with water.  Leave them in the water for 5-15 minutes.  The longer time will produce better results.  The water will make the colors more vibrant.

 Use a pair of plastic gloves and take the desired piece of chalk and highlight the desired hairs.  This can be on the front, sides, back or bottom of your hair.  You can make the color subtle or drastic.  Let the chalk dry on the hair.  It will wash out when you shampoo.  Scrub your hair when you shampoo to remove all the color.

   

 

Gai Ding Almond Chicken

Got this recipe from those Kraft Magazines that come to the door.  Yummy! The whole family loved it and it was pretty quick and easy to make also, ready in just under 30 minutes.  We have added it to our need a quick healthy dinner repitoire.  It is also great for lunch the next day.

1/4 cup Kraft Calorie-Wise Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing, divided

1 small onion, chopped

1 lb. (450 g) boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces

1 Tbsp. lite soy sauce

2 cups chopped fresh broccoli

1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms

2 stalks celery, chopped

1 carrot, thinly sliced

1/4 cup Back to Nature Sea Salt Roasted Almonds, chopped

2-2/3 cups hot cooked long-grain brown rice

 HEAT 2 Tbsp. dressing in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add onions; cook 1 min. Stir in chicken; cook 2 min. or until chicken is done, stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet; cover to keep warm.

ADD remaining dressing, soy sauce and vegetables to skillet; stir. Cook 4 to 5 min. or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring frequently.

RETURN chicken to skillet; cook 2 min. or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Stir in nuts. Serve with rice.

Becky Fleck has her Page Maps up for September.  These are great - grab one, grab some supplies and scrapbook. It takes all the stress out of "what" you are going to do.  Often by the time you are done, it looks totally different, but it allows you to start. Here are a couple of the samples.

Hi everyone, my Sister in law Elaine has a wonderful company called Easy Daysies. She has created a magnetic scheduling system that is great for kids, especially young ones, and children (and adults) with challenges. It helps to know what is happening in the day and the routine etc. It is used at home, in schools, in day cares and more. She is going to be at Chapters in Coquitlam on Sat and Sun from 12-4 as the "author of the day". To sell in Chapters (which is a fabulous market for her), you have to get the attention of the buyers who buy for the chain. The general manager of the Coq store loves her product, but can't buy it for the store. The buying comes from Toronto.  So he has offered her these 2 spots to sell her products. If there is commotion and lots of sales, she has a great chance of getting picked up by Chapters. She is in many specialty stores and toy stores throughout North America already, and Chapters would be a great addition.
